Dr Phyu Phyu Khaing

Professor/  Head

Department of Statistics

Dr Phyu Phyu Khaing is a professor and Head of Department of Statistics, Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained her B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 1998 from Yangon University of Economics. She also held her Ph.D degree from Yangon University of Economics in 2013. She is currently a  Director of Research Department in Meiktila University of Economics. In addition, she also achieved certificate of Teacher Training in Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Myanmar-Singapore Training center. Her specialized fields of study is   Econometrics, Applied Statistics and Research Methodology. She gives lectures on Advanced Statistical Inference in M.Econ (Statistics) and Ph.D. class. She also teaches statistics and research methods for public administration in MPA, Statistics for Business Administration and Business Research Methods in MBA programme. She takes the role of supervisory in M.Econ (Statistics) and Ph.D. dissertations of Research Department.

Dr Nyunt Nyunt Win

Dr Nyunt Nyunt Win is a professor of  the Department of Statistics, Meiktila University of Economics (November 2018 to present). She started to join the Department of Statistics, Yangon University of Economics as a tutor in 1998.  She received his B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 1993, M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 1999 and   Ph.D (Statistics) degree in 2016 from Yangon University of Economics. Her Specialized field of study is Sampling Theory and Technique.

Dr Nyein Nyein

Dr Nyein Nyein  is a professor  of  the Department of Statistics, Meiktila University of Economics. . She obtained B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 1991 and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 1997 from Yangon University of Economics. She also got Ph.D (Statistics)  degree from Yangon University of Economics in 2017. She gives lectures on Advanced Probability and Distribution Theory, Statistical Decision Theory, and Economics and Social Statistics. Her main research interest is in Infant and Child Mortality in Myanmar. She takes the role of supervisor in M.Econ (Statistics) dissertations.

U Maung Maung Thwin

Associate Professor

U Maung Maung Thwin is an associate professor, Department of Statistics in Meiktila University of Economics. He obtained B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 1984 and B.Econ (Statistics) Honours degree in 1985 from Institute of Economics (Rangoon).  He held M.Econ (Statistics) in 1995.  The title of his Master Thesis is “Jackknifing the Multivariate Ratio and Product Estimators in Double Sampling”.  He also obtained a certificate of AMSM-1 (SME) from Yokohamer Kanshu Center, Japanin 2004.  He is giving lectures in M.Econ (statistics) and Ph.D classes.  His specialized fields of study are Research Methodology, Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Stochastic Processes and Sample Survey Methodology. He is also a Ph.D candidate.  The field of his study in Ph.D thesis is Demography and the title of his thesis is Population Projections and Some Aspects of Labour Pool Model for Myanmar.

Daw Myint Myint Thein

Daw Myint Myint Thein  is an associate professor, Department of Statistics in Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained B.Econ (Statistics) Honours degree in 1994 from Institute of Economics (Yangon).  She also held M.Econ (Statistics) in 1997.  The title of her Master Thesis is “ Multivariate Linear Models with Missing Observations”.  She also obtained a certificate of “Seminar on Energy Industry and Economics Development for Myanmar in 2014” from MOFCOM, China in 2014.  She is giving lectures in third year and final year Statistics students.  Her specialized fields of study are Time Series Analysis, Research Methodology and Sample Survey Methodology.

Daw Kyi Kyi Min

Daw Kyi Kyi Min  is a lecturer at the Department of Statistics,  Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained her B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2001 from Yangon  University of Economics.  She also held her M.Econ (Statistics) from Meiktila University of Economics in 2006.  She is giving lectures on Basic Statistics in first year, Statistical Theory I in second year and Nonparametric statistics in fourth years. Her specialized fields of study are Statistical Theory and Statistical Inference.

Daw Thu Zar Hlaing Oo

Daw Thu Zar Hlaing  Oo is a lecturer at the Department of Statistics in Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained her B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 1998 and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2003  from Yangon  University of Economics.  She also achieved Productivity Management Course certificate in 2003 from Singapore Training Centre, Yangon and English Proficiency Course for Higher Education Teacher  certificate in 2002,2008 from Yangon  University and Meiktila University of Economics. Specialized field of study of her are Regression Analysis and Econometric. She is a Ph.D Statistics Major candidate from Yangon  University of Economics.  She is  giving lectures on Operation Research and Nonparametric statistics in Fourth Year class. She also teaches Basic Statistics for First Year class. In brief, her working experience is 18 years and 3 months.

U San Htoo Aung

U San Htoo Aung is a lecturer at the Department of Statistics in Meiktila University of Economics. He obtained his B.Econ Statistics) degree in 2001 and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2005  from Yangon  Institute of Economics.  He also obtained his M.A(International  Development) degree in 2009 from International University of Japan. He teaches Econometric and Stochastic processes. His research focuses on econometric modelling and computable general equilibrium modelling.

Daw May Thu San

Daw May Thu San is a lecturer and Department of Statistics,  Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained her B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2002 and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2006 from Yangon  University of Economics. Her specialized field of study are Linear models and  Statistical Inference. She is giving lectures on linear model in second year students (Statistics) and Statistical Inference in fourth year students (Statistics).

U Win Min Thant

U Win Min Thant is a lecturer of department of Statistics in Meiktila University of Economics. He obtained her B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2002 from Yangon University of Economics and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2008 from Meiktila University of Economics. In addition, he also achieved certificate in “English Proficiency Course” in department of English, Meiktila University of Economics in 2007. He specialized fields of study are Applied Times Series, and Computer for Statistical Analysis. He is giving lectures on Applied Time Series and computer for statistical analysis in B.Econ (Statistics). He takes the role of supervisor in B.Econ (Statistics),  M.Econ (Statistics) and M.A.S.

Daw Aye Mi Khaing is a lecturer and works at Department of Statistics, Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2002from Yangon University of Economics and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2007 from Meiktila University of Economics. She takes the role of supervisor in M.Econ (Statistics). She teaches on Applied Time Series and National Account Statistics.

Daw Win Min Thant

Daw Win Min Thant is a lecturer at Department of Statistics,  Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained her B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2002 and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2006 from Yangon  University of Economics. Her specialized fields of study are Statistical Inference and Operation Research I. She takes the role of supervisor in M.Econ (Statistics) and term paper.

Dr Yin Yin Wint

Dr. Yin Yin Wint is currently a lecturer at the Meiktila University of Economics.She graduated with a bachelor degree of statistics specialization from the University of Economics, Yangon in 2003. In 2006, she got master degree of Statistics. From 2005 to 2008 she worked as a tutor at the Monywa University of Economics. And then she transferred as an assistant lecture to Yangon University of Economics and worked until 2016. In 2016, she transferred again to Meiktila University of Economics and got promotion as a lecturer at the university.She became a Ph.D holder with statistics specialization and obtained from Yangon University of Economics in 2019.In 2019, she participated and presented a women health research in Asian University Network health promotion conference, University of Philippines. She is interested in teaching with innovation and research.

U Aung Naing Win

U Aung Naing Win  is a lecturer at the Department of Statistics,  Meiktila University of Economics. He obtained his B.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2003 from Monywa University of Economics.  He also obatined held his M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2008 from Meiktila University of Economics.  He is giving lectures on Basic Statistics in first year, qualitative data analysis in third year, and sample survey metodology in fourth years. His specialized fields of study are econometric and applied statistics.

Daw Myo Myo Win

Daw Myo Myo Win is a lecturer of Department of Statistics,  Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained her B.Econ (Hous)(Statistics) degree in 2005  and M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2007 from Monywa University of Economics.  She is also a  Ph.D candidate in Monywa University of Economics. In addition, she also attended few trainings such as Demographic Data Analysis and Research Methodology from Department of Statistics Yangon University of Economics. Her specialized fields of study are Applied Statistics and Demography. She is giving lecture on National Account Statistics in fourth year students. She takes the role of supervisor in B.Econ (Statistics).

Daw Phyu Phyu Thant is a lecturer at the Department of Statistics,  Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained her AGTI (Civil) diploma course in 2001 from Government Technical Institute in Maubin. Then, she got B.Econ (Hous)(Statistics) degree in 2005  M.Econ (Statistics) degree in 2007 from Yangon University of Economics in Yangon.  Her specialized fields of study are Applied Statistics and Time series analysis. She gives lectures on Time Series Analysis in third year student (Statistics). She takes the role of supervisor in term papers of fourth year student (Statistics).

She also held her M.Econ (Statistics) from Meiktila University of Economics in 2008. She is giving lecture on Basic Statistics in first year and Financial Insurance in fourth years. Her specialized fields of study are Statistical Theory and Financial Insurance.

U Toe Kyaw

U Toe Kyaw is the one of  the functionaries from Department of Statistics at Meiktila University of Economics. He is a lecturer. He is giving lectures on Migration, Social Statistics, Applied Statistics, Operations Research and Stochastic Processes. His     specialization subject is Migration. He obtained the two degrees from Yangon University of Economics. The first one was the degree of Bachelor of Economics (Honours) specialized major is Statistics in 2007 and the second one was the Degree of Master of Economics specialized major is Statistics in 2009. And then he also got a certificate about English Language namely ELCHET (3/2013) in National Centre for English Language  (NCEL) Yangon. In addition, he also attended few trainings such as Demographic Data Analysisl,  Research Methodology and Public Health and Epidemology from Department of Statistics Yangon University of Economics. Now, he takes the role of supervisor in term papers of fourth year students whose specialized subject is Statistics.

Daw Thandar Tun

Daw Thandar Tun is a lecturer of department of statistics at Meiktila University of Economics. She obtained two degrees from Monywa University of Economics. The first degree was B.Econ (Hons) (Statistics) in 2008 and the second degree was M.Econ (Statistics) in 2010. She attended the University Teachers Qualification Training Course in 2013 at Yangon University of Economics. And then, she also got a certificate about English Language namely ELCHET (3/2013) from National Centre for English Language, Yangon. She is giving lectures on Economics Statistics and Migration in Third Year students and Basic Business Statistics in First Year Students. Now, she is also a Ph.D Candidate.
