History of Department

Department of Myanmar studies has produced Myanmar Literary Scholars, Doctoral Degrees, Master’s Degrees and Ordinary Degrees. The first year trainees are taught the basics of Myanmar Language. In addition, the Myanmar Department seldom facilitates language skills competitions, in-house art readings, field trips to ancient area and the publication of a university magazine.

Dr. Shwe Sin Aung obtained BA (Myanmar) in 1987, MA (Myanmar) in 1995, and Ph.D from Yangon University of Economics in 2005. She has 23 years and 5 months working experience and has been teaching literature.

Daw Tin Tin Naing

Daw Tin Tin Naing obtained BA (Myanmar) from Mandalay University in 1995 and MA (Myanmar) from Mandalay University in 2001. She has 20 years working experience and has been teaching literature.

Daw Saw Yu Khaing

Daw Saw Yu Khaing obtained BA (Myanmar) from University of Distance Education, Mandalay and MA (Myanmar) from Yadanabon University in 2007. She has 13 years working experience and she has been teaching literature.
