Quality Assurance Center
Overview
Established in July 2016, the Quality Assurance Center plays a crucial role in assuring and sustaining the quality outcomes of the University. Recognizing that quality is the University’s primary responsibility, the Center focuses on spreading the culture of quality in the University through trainings, workshops, seminars, projects, continuous support and effective advising on quality matters. It involves in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of quality assurance-related policies, procedures and projects to meet institutional, national and international standards.
Goals and Objectives
The center aims to prepare and implement the institution’s strategic plan for quality assurance and accreditation to enable all academic programs of the university and administrative units achieve academic and research excellence. It acts as an internal audit unit that formulates the institution’s quality assurance strategies and policies to govern the university’s academic and administrative performance according to predetermined criteria.
Core Functions
Acknowledging that quality assurance is a holistic, participatory and collaborative process, the Center functions under the direct supervision of Rector and Pro-rector for quality assurance activities closely with faculty members and non-academic officers of the University. The main tasks of the Center are:
- To develop and maintain an effective internal quality assurance system;
- To attain higher accreditation status for all academic programs;
- To strengthen collaborative arrangements with internal and external stakeholders; and
- To develop and implement capacity building interventions to improve the teaching and learning process
